WHO WE ARE

The Diak in Schwäbisch Hall - a centre of committed social welfare service for the people in our country. The term Diak is short for "Protestant Social Welfare Work Schwäbisch Hall", registered charity (Evangelisches Diakoniewerk Schwäbisch Hall e.V.). The Diak is a social welfare centre which provides various services for the sick, the elderly and people with disabilities.

It comprises five areas of work:

The diaconal hospital is a house of comprehensive medical care and serves as an academic teaching hospital for the University of Heidelberg.

The nursing homes offer elderly people a place to live in dignity.

The "Schöneck" provides a home for adults with mental and multiple disabilities.

Municipal nursing: Many nurses of Schwäbisch Hall work in wards run by the Social Welfare Work, caring for sick and elderly outpatients.

Places of Training: The Diak is a centre for training and further vocational education in a number of professions.

The Diak in Schwäbisch Hall is part of the social welfare network in the region of Hohenlohe-Franken.

At the Diak in Schwäbisch Hall, Christian values, professional skill and advanced technology are combined in service of the people.

The Diak stresses the importance of qualified training and further vocational education.
