Blood Bank and Donation Centre

Modern intensive care and haematological/ oncological therapy are impossible unless there is enough stored blood available for those patients undergoing treatment. At the Blood Donation Centre of the diaconal hospital, blood is taken from donors in order to store the red blood cells, blood plasma and platelets.

Unfortunately, the number of donations is still insufficient for supplying the hospital with enough units of stored blood. A traffic accident or any kind of serious illness can leave everybody suddenly in need of blood transfusions.

If you would like to donate blood, you can announce your arrival at the Blood Donation Centre.
